Assistant Director of Intellectual Property (Advisory)

• overseeing the provision of civil legal advisory service on intellectual property matters to government departments and bureaux;
  

• identifying the civil intellectual property issues raised in requests from government departments and bureaux;
  

• providing specialist civil legal opinions on intellectual property to government departments and bureaux,
  

• advising on the development of registrable public international intellectual property standards and norms, and private international intellectual property issues, principles, rules, processes and practice;
  

• monitoring international and regional intellectual property capacity building matters; recommending Hong Kong's position on international and cross-border issues;
  

• overseeing liaison with the Mainland; and

• undertaking trade mark registrability, opposition and invalidation hearings, and handing down reasoned decisions.
