Assistant Director of Intellectual Property (Registration)
-
overseeing practice and procedures of application and post-registration of trade marks, patents and designs;
-
supervising and conducting trade mark registrability sessions, undertaking trade mark registrability, opposition and invalidation hearings, and handing down reasoned decisions;
-
monitoring the approval of trade marks, patents and designs registrations;
-
overseeing the provision of policy advice on trade marks, patents, designs and other registrable rights;
-
monitoring the development of the draft Trade Mark Rules and completing the Trade Mark Manual in respect of the application and post-registration processes;
-
commenting on draft intellectual property High Court Orders; planning and preparing draft law drafting instructions on possible amendments to Ordinances and subsidiary legislation on registrable intellectual property rights; and
-
overseeing the preparation of internal guidelines and Circulars on registration and post-registration matters to the Law Society.
