Layout-Design (Topography) of Integrated Circuits

The Hong Kong SAR has special legislation to protect the original layout-design for incorporation into an integrated circuit. Subject to certain exceptions, the owner is able to take civil action to prohibit others from reproducing or distributing his / her layout-design without his / her consent or without payment of royalties. There is no need to register the layout-design right and protection will be automatic.
