Intellectual Capital Management Consultancy Programme
Intellectual Capital Management (ICM) is a set of simple management tools which allows enterprises to tap into reservoirs of knowledge and expertise that they already possess but may not be exploiting effectively. It also helps them appreciate competitive pressures from outside and identify their needs to obtain improved knowledge and expertise.
In March 2009, the Intellectual Property Department (IPD), the Innovation and Technology Commission and the Trade and Industry Department have jointly launched an Intellectual Capital Management Consultancy Programme a free consultancy service which aims to help enterprises, especially SMEs, to gain an understanding of ICM and to show them how to apply ICM tools to maximize their business potential and to compete more effectively in the market.
Under the Programme, an Intellectual Capital Management Consultant will visit the office of a participating enterprise two times (up to three hours each time) to help them identify their intellectual assets and make plans for exploiting their assets in a well-organised manner. |

During the programme period from March 2009 to March 2011, 648 organisations joined the Programme and 39 organisations published their own intellectual capital reports. The Programme has been completed. For related information, please refer to “A Guide to Intellectual Capital Management”.
