Phonographic Performance (South East Asia) Limited (PP(SEA)L)
Established in 1984 by IFPI, Phonographic Performance (South East Asia) Limited [PP(SEA)L] undertakes the responsibility to administer the collection of public performance royalties and issue licences to the public on behalf of members of IFPI. PP(SEA)L was subsequently transferred to the IFPI(Hong Kong Group) as its subsidiary company in 1998. The individual members of IFPI (Hong Kong Group) have given authorisation to PP(SEA)L to issue licence for the public performance and broadcasting of their sound recordings, music videos and karaoke videos in Hong Kong.
IFPI (HK Group) is a national group of IFPI and it represents over 50 recording companies in Hong Kong which includes all the major local recording companies.
IFPI is the representative organization of a majority of producers of both sound recordings, music videos and karaoke videos worldwide. It is a non-profit making organization registered in Zurich with a secretariat based in London. IFPI has a membership of more than 1,400 recording companies in over 70 countries.
